Savannah Morning News SAVANNAH, Ga. – A Savannah congregation became the first in the U.S. to officially disaffiliate from the United Methodist Church over LGBTQ rights on Thursday. Formerly Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church, the new Asbury Memorial Church will be non-denominational.
