The Biggest LGBTQ Milestones Of The 2010s

As the first decade of the century came to an end this week, the LGBTQ community looked back over the past 10 years with pride amid the amazing progress the country has made toward equality for all.

The U.S. is still well below granting full equality to all its citizens, beginning most obviously with women. Females in this country still have yet to reach gender equality with men in salaries, start-up funding for new business and representation in Washington.

Yet, for the LGBTQ community, the decade just past included huge milestones: the right to same-sex marriage being legalized, and the first out gay candidate running for the office of President among them.
