Hilton saves LGBTQ wedding after Marriott’s public relations nightmare

When Josh Rimer planned to have his wedding to long-time fiance Heath next April at the Sheraton Buganvilias Resort in Puerto Vallarta, it wasn’t just an arbitrary choice.  The location, which is part of the Marriott International Classic Premium collection of brands, is an all-inclusive ocean-front resort that Rimer, a Vancouver-based travel vlogger, knew would be perfect of the wedding of his dreams. Or so he thought.

The Sheraton rejected his wedding saying that its “staff is not specialized to carry out an equal wedding.”

Seeing a opportunity to gain some positive publicity and show its own inclusive corporate policy, Hilton International offered to not only host the same-sex wedding, but pay for it as well including the 45 guests.
